After carefully monitoring weather developments with Hurricane Florence, we have made the decision to cancel The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers South Carolina 5K Run & Walk scheduled for Friday, September 14, 2018 in downtown Columbia.
Participants will still be able to pick up their race t-shirts on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. In addition, people who had registered for the 2018 event will have the opportunity to receive free registration for the 2019 race for a limited time. Registrants will be notified about that by email. Tunnel to Towers Foundation does not offer refunds for race registration.
Be safe and we thank you for understanding.
ABOUT THE FOUNDATION:
The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
The goal of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Building for America’s Bravest, a program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, constructs specially adapted smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members.
